A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR JANICE
Dear Friends,
I hope and pray that this brief introduction to our church gives you a look at the life of Belvidere
United Methodist Church. We are simply a group of ordinary people moved by the love offered
to us to do extraordinary things by God’s grace.
Here is a bit about what we believe & do as a church family:
We believe in the Holy Triune God – Creator, Son and Holy Spirit. We are committed to
upholding the importance of Jesus’ teachings in our lives. We believe that Jesus Christ offers
forgiveness of sins, and this makes possible a true, meaningful relationship with Him. We
believe that the Holy Spirit empowers us all with spiritual gifts that allow us to build the
Kingdom of God here on earth.
Here at Belvidere United Methodist Church, our worship includes teaching and preaching of the
word of God, opportunities for fellowship and study, mission and outreach to our communities
(and beyond), growing children and youth ministries, and of course celebration of the holy
sacraments of baptism and communion; God’s love and grace poured out for all of God’s
children.
Ultimately, it is our prayer that people come to Belvidere United Methodist Church to grow
deeper in their faith and relationship with Christ, to build meaningful friendships with one
another, and through those bonds are moved to serve as the hands and feet of Christ within our
world.
Whether you have been a member of this congregation for decades, are coming back after a bit,
or are visiting for the first time – you are loved and have a place here.
May God’s unending, steadfast, radical love be with you, today and always.
In Christ,
Rev. Janice McCrostie
